State of the Pups
Aug. 29th, 2014 10:25 amState of me: The podcast is getting ready to go back into full swing! For the summer the show only recorded every other week, but starting September 16th it'll be back to weekly episodes. This may limit my time a little but I can't see how that would be the case on any days other than Sunday and Monday. I've been working from home since July 28th and I finally go back to the office on September 2nd. This is a literal thing I cannot wait for and may in fact be in a better head space once I'm in a daily routine again.
Regina Mills
Above gif is an actual representation of Regina right now. I mean yes, she had her soul sucked at the beginning of the month, but her son is here, and Robin loves her and so she's going to be happy. Being honest with him about how she cast the curse and him not running from her (like she had convinced herself would happen) was a big boost to Regina's confidence. She needs to know that her past does not define her. This forward progress is great, so when things eventually (after canon has played out which may be months from now so no worries) come crashing down in Darrow and it's revealed that Marian is back, it will be interesting to see what happens.
For now though, immediate plans are to have Regina find out that apparently her cooking skills have not stuck in Emma's memories. When she finds out that Henry exists on boxed food during his week with blond mom, she'll bebreaking in using Henry's key to helpfully stock Emma's fridge with fruits and vegetables, her freezer with homemade lasagna and casseroles, and tossing out all of the pop-tarts. Hopefully this leads to a hilarious confrontation with Emma in which Regina denies everything.
In September, the scouting for the perfect scotch shall begin, so I hope to have her meet new people at bars and such that she normally doesn't frequent. The queen loves a smooth drink.
(Random: SHE WEARS JEANS IN DARROW. Honestly, it's a miracle, but they're not mom jeans, they're cool jeans, and I promise her outfits are still on point.)
She actually really loves her job because she's the one in charge, and it's really nice being able to set her own appointments for photoshoots. She's around Darrow a lot though, so if you're looking for a reason to tag her, I'm sure we can come up with something.
As a side note: now that Henry is in Darrow, her daily pilgrimage to the train station has stopped. Everyone else who may arrive from Storybrooke is on their own.
Future plans: Get ready for this precious bb:
This will happen (I hope) around the second-to-last weekend of September. It may get pushed to October, depending. But she will be about 17, and the sweetest, happiest version of herself that no one has ever seen before. She will have no memories of her older self because 1) angst and 2) I could not resist a young Regina smiley and happy and so full of hope and optimism.
I know that at some point she's getting wishes from Cyrus I think? And I think I remember that she'll be the one freeing him with her last wish, but I'm still trying to decide what the other two should be.
And way in the future (like maybe a year from now all things willing) I want her to open a bakery. I played with that idea a few months ago, someone suggested calling it 'Forbidden Fruit' and I've been hooked on the idea ever since. But it's a ways out if it happens.
Wanting threads with: Canon mates, always, and the other list of usual suspects. I'm really enjoying a possible friendship with Elsa which could be interesting from Regina's perspective eventually.
When I initially started with Regina, I thought it would be really hard to get her to talk to people, but the thing is, in a place where the first reaction isn't fear and loathing, it hasn't been that difficult at all. She's still wary sometimes, but on the whole, she's pretty approachable.
Michonne
Her default facial expression right now: see above gif. Here's the thing; she promised Beth that she would give the place a chance, but she never said anything about the people. She's met three of them: Jesse, Henry, and Inuyasha. Jesse gave her the welcome speech, Henry offered to take her to get ice cream, and so she was two for two until Inuyasha and I am so sorry about that. I always feel bad when I have a prickly pup, but she just didn't take well to the sword thing and so she's mostly taking the city with a grain of salt right now. She's glad at least a part of her people are there but I think if Rick showed up she would really feel better.
I'm not sure what my immediate plans with Michonne are other than getting a post up for her so people can start tagging in. She won't be leaving her katana at home any time soon. And I haven't even thought about what she might do long term other than scowl at people. Well, I take that back - she may eventually, and I mean waaaaaay eventually, get back into law. But before that she'll be more at home possibly teaching people the ways of the katana. Maybe she'll teach a survival course, I don't know just yet.
Future plans: Shower. Eat a lot. Explore. Get ice cream with Henry.See about possibly having Carl live with her? Carl lives with her, and that's not a future plan but it happened!
I want her to deal with the death of her son somehow, but that idea is still percolating. Had she been here during the Grand Fisher plot, she'd have seen Mike and the baby together. She also needs to deal with the death of Hershel. She was right there and she couldn't stop it, but she'd had the chance to kill the Governor plenty of times. And now Hershel is dead, and Andrea (her Andrea) is dead, and for all she knows baby Judith. All of these people. All because she never finished the job or found him after Woodbury.
At least, that's how she sees it.
Wanting threads with: She is not as approachable as Regina, but she also won't shoot you down right away, so don't be shy? I'd like to see people, especially super hero type people, talk to her. People who have been through some shit. Clementine for absolute sure. Ellie. Always canon mates.
Future pup plans: Tentative so far. I toyed with Catelyn but rather than disappoint I realized I didn't have the long term voice for her. Short memes were okay. There is a possibility Alisha Bailey from Misfits may show up, but that's going to require a rewatch of the show and with OUAT and other shows returning very soon I'm not sure when that can happen.
If I could enable anyone to pick up Cora Mills, do you know that I would send you an actual gift of thanks? There is so much to be done there and it's such a fucked up relationship that I want to explore it more and see what might happen. I would also greatly love a Snow because that relationship has come a long, long way. Also, I think a Neal would be fantastic, because Regina never really got to know him, and I think she has an appreciation for him.
Someone should pick up Rick Grimes, please. *pouty face*and bring Judith
